Job description

The ideal candidate brings the capacity for combining the role of CFO/ COO. Should you be a strong COO with experience in managing people, building teams, experience working in a start-up, and know the procedures of raising capital and fundings, you are welcome to apply for the role.


The new unicorn is looking to bring onboard a CFO / COO that can structure and run the company’s finances and day-to-day operations whilst at the same time be a driving force in the continued development of the business. The CFO / COO has the primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all finance-related activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, and negotiations. creating clarity and transparency to the company’s operations. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, controlling, forecasting, taxes, legal, risk management etc. The scope of the business is to operate on the global market with a focus on the US. As the company is rising in Stockholm, it is beneficial if you have knowledge of eg the Swedish tax system.


You will be a part of the management team for the business and coming in at a very early stage of the company’s journey, the CFO / COO is expected to play a vital part in business development including ensuring the short- and long-term financing of the company. The right candidate will be highly communicative and proactively plan, develop and execute investor relations activities with the aim of increasing shareholder value and enhancing the unicorns image within both the Swedish and global investment community including developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential new investors.


As CFO / COO you will enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-moving, ambitious, and autonomous environment with high personal responsibilities. The ideal candidate will offer analytical expertise, a broad commercial understanding, and be a natural communicator.
Ensure the short- and long-term financing for the company, together with the CEO.
Overall responsible for the financial function and drive the financial and reporting processes to ensure the availability of timely and relevant information.

Establish planning and analyses of the highest quality and secure effective management of processes and internal controls.

Management of relationship with auditors and other external parties and investors.

Responsible for developing and implementing an investor targeting plan to support the company’s strategy and managing various key investor events including, investor conferences and investor meetings etc
· Responsible for the production of external financial reports and investor presentations
· Collaboration with other functional areas including technology/product, HR/People, sales and marketing

Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO/president and members of the executive management team
Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting

Advising on long-term business and financial planning
Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
Reviewing all formal finance, HR, and IT-related procedures

· Assist in drafting and review of legal documents Financial KPIs definition and monitoring.
· Manage the company’s investor base together with the CEO and support the CEO on fundraising efforts.
· fundraising plans and capital structure to ensure sound cash flows.
· Perform financial modeling and risk analysis for new product development and derive actionable suggestions from those analyses.
· Negotiate with key vendors and suppliers on key financials


Requirements

Major professional experiences & competencies
· Experience and a proven track record of strategic corporate structuring and fundraising, both in the short, medium, and long term. Micro, small, and mid-cap with both domestic and international investor communities
· Experience and proven track record of investor communications skills. In-depth understanding of financial and investment markets, with established investor relationships.
· Experience working in/with startups and fundraising for startups.
· Experience in recruiting, building up, and leading teams
· Experience and an understanding of working in a smaller company with potential exponential growth, tight schedules, and limited resources
· Experience and deep knowledge of budgeting, cash-flow, monitoring, periodic reports, forecasts, profitability monitoring, analysis, and project economics
· Experience supporting a business in financial matters such as creating strategies for purchasing and supplier management with respect e.g. tied-up capital
· A strategic mindset and an ability to translate visions into concrete short and long-term plans that are aligned with company key results and targets
· Proven ability to build relationships both internally and externally. Ability to influence and impact immediately. Solid leadership skills and a natural gravitas
· Sophisticated communication & presentation skills, able to understand and appreciate diversity and nuance and adapt style accordingly
· Exceptionally strong financial literacy, with excellent quantitative and analytical skills


Education and specific skills
· Master of Science in Business, Finance or Accounting (CPA would be interesting)
· Fluent in English, both written and spoken, another language is a plus.

Working conditions

Contract according to Swedish standards. It is not a 9-5 job! But a possibility to build one of the new unicorns in the tech world!
At the moment the company is not certified for applying for work permits in Sweden, so for this role, it is necessary that you are eligible to work in Sweden.
