Our client is a global technology and engineering company providing innovative solutions for customers in industrial, commercial, and residential markets. They are looking for an Inside Sales Engineer for the UK market. In this position your clients will be mainly active in the chemical industry for the market for Coriolis, Vortex and Magnetic Flowmeters, density and viscosity meters.

Job description

The Inside Sales Engineer’s role is to maintain and develop customer loyalty through excellent levels of service. The Inside Sales Engineer identifies, offers and sells tailored solutions; provides commercial and technical support; and always strives to provide the highest standards of customer service in guidance with your peers, Outside Sales, Service Engineers, Product Managers and Business Managers. You will:
  • Prequalify customer requests and explore opportunities for additional products or services.
  • Pro-actively follow-up of quotations with customers as agreed with outside sales.
  • Negotiate sales orders within the agreed SLA’s.
  • Answer customer questions, both technical and commercial.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records in CRM and other tools as required.
  • Communicate with manufacturing locations for queries regarding lead-time, specials, etc.
  • Support order execution to ensure that purchase orders are commercially and technically complete and accurate, and to resolve any technical-related issues that occur during order cycle.
  • Pro-actively manage personal quote backlog in accordance with the agreed procedures.
  • Ensure that activities are carried out according to agreed departmental KPIs and procedures.


What you will bring for the team:
  • You speak English completely fluent (C2 level) and you have worked with customers from the UK or you have lived in the UK in the past yourself.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline (electrical, mechanical or chemical preferred).
  • You have worked a minimum of three years in inside sales and/or technical-commercial sales (preferably in the process automation industry.
  • You have a strong technical background but at the same time, you enjoy working with people and are a team player.
  • You are a positive role model and have a strong level of interaction with the team, department, company, and country sales organization.
  • You can ensure all technical information communicated is complete, accurate and timely.

  • You like being in touch with people and take every opportunity to pick up the phone and communicate with your customers and colleagues.
